Connected fields in interactive views (drill-in)

The interactive view functionality is helpful because it lets users drill-in to specific records on a shared view. After speaking with Aha! support, we determined that the drill-in functionality only works for fields that are directly associated with the record. In my case, I display a 'Roll up to goals' field value on a report and need users to be able to click on the goal to learn more about it (see its description). This does not work because the 'Roll up to goals' field is not directly associated with the initiative record.
