Who would benefit? |
Users with more than just a handful shipped stories per release |
What impact would it make? |
Save us time in manually drafting Release Notes and value props from collection of stories |
How should it work? |
When we draft release notes with AI, tell us how many records we can select before we submit. Allow us to select more than we currently can. (I am not sure of the current maximum since I can't get this feature to work.) |
How about you implement a loop in the background? We implemented this just a few weeks before the Aha! built-in feature came out via Power Automate - we get all the Features in a Release via API and then create a release notes summary for each Feature separately, at the end put it all together in one custom description field. So the character limit will start applying by Feature, not for the entire selection. We've never experienced any character limitations with this approach.
Thank you! This now worked for me with my upcoming, lengthy, release.
We have increased the limit for drafting release notes to about 12,000 words across all the descriptions and names of all selected records. Please try it out again and let us know how it works for you.
I have run into this limit already when looking at this functionality. Our features have quite wordy descriptions to include the requirements, in-scope and out-of-scope items, testing considerations, etc. With some initial tests, I'm hitting this character limit when selecting between 4-5 features. If I do them in batches as suggested for a major release that presents a lot of extra steps for us. It would be nice to be able to select more records at at time.
Hi Gwen. The approximate limit is 3,000 words across all the descriptions and names of all selected records.
If the selected records are near or over that limit, we suggest generating release notes in batches. The text can be added to the same note record within Aha! so that all release notes can be viewed together.
