We started looking into testing the integration with github.com and aha and noticed that Github has new functionality ‘Projects Beta’ which gives users spreadsheet like functionality to group issues and pull requests (screenshots attached). These all-new projects are at the Org level and not at the repo level.
The current aha integration wizard expects a repo before it can list the projects.
All-new projects functionality is being evaluated in Pilot right now and from early evaluation, the functionality seems useful. After the pilot ends, teams will be moving to using github cloud and start using all-new projects functionality and the current integration for projects via repo will not work. And the updates between aha and github will not work unless the integration is updated.

Our integration with GitHub has been updated to support GitHub projects. You will need to re-authenticate to grant the permissions required to access your organization and project data. Please review the instructions Step 7: Enable carefully as there are separate web hook configuration instructions for integrations using GitHub projects.
Is there an estimated timeline that can be provided for this to be available to help us with our internal planning?
We're currently in the testing phase of for this feature. We will keep this idea updated as progress is made.
Hi,
Is there an update on when this might be enabled? As others have mentioned, the lack of a functioning integration between the new Github boards will effectively render Aha inoperable for teams as they migrate to the new Github functionality.
Thank you for these recent comments. Our team is reviewing our integration and GraphQL API to better understand and evaluate the required changes. We don't yet have a timeline to share, but we will keep this idea updated as progress is made.
As per https://docs.github.com/en/issues/organizing-your-work-with-project-boards GH are restricting creation of project boards as follows:
You can only create a new classic project board for an organization, user, or repository that already has at least one classic project board. If you're unable to create a classic project board, create a project board instead.
This is going to mean the GH integration from AHA! is going to stop working completely for new repositories going forward unless it is upgraded to work with the now non-beta GH projects.
GitHub Projects is now GA as of 7/27. Hopefully this means we will see an integration update soon. The features of GitHub Projects effectively make it a proper planning tool for developers. However, until this integration is enabled, the administrative and cognitive workload of keeping GitHub & Aha in sync is a significant obstacle to aligning execution with strategy. This undermines the value of good strategic planning done in Aha, and therefore undermines the value of the tool itself.
