Add an optional comment when changing the status of a record

It would be really nice if you could add a comment tied directly to a status change. For example if you set something to shipped or will not do, a little text box shows up to let you enter an optional comment to supplement why you changed the status.

Then when people are notified of a status change, that notification would also include any comment related to that status change to explain why it was made.

I can use normal comments of course, but they tend to get lost and people don't always see them.
