Overview view is used a lot to discuss, communicate and make decision in real-time on releases. One of the reasons is that it give a good overview of all our product lines and product releases at the same time. Also the view is visually easy to understand.
However, currently all the releases are of the same value, i.e. when looking at the overview it’s easy to think that every product release in the product line has been decided to be done. However, as we know the releases are usually in different stages, or have different status. I.e. some of the releases are under consideration, some are in concepting stage, some are under development and some have already been released. It is very important to be able to distinguish especially between releases that are “under consideration/” and those releases that have been confirmed to be done.
It would be very good if it would be possible to assign colors (automatically, or by user selection) to a release based on the status. In that way you can immediately visually distinguish which releases are under consideration, under development etc.
Color scheme would be good to tag health / risk level of project i.e. blockers, dependencies falling behind, loss of resources, etc.
