Sometimes I feel that I really like someone's idea that was written in a comment and I don't want write needless support comments, such us "Good idea, John!". It would be nice to upvote comments in discussion.
As you likely know, commenting ability is currently available throughout Aha! This allows users to communicate on records across the application.
While we can understand the potential benefits of lightweight actions around upvoting comments, we feel that the existing functionality can serve the same purpose without the need to build out additional features.
With this in mind, combined with community feedback and current priorities, we are unlikely to make changes in this area. We hope you can understand.
I think this would solve many of the problem other's suggest like linking ideas, and managing ideas.
I would think often a created Idea is the centralizer for a certain thought line. For example, someone starts an "Dashboard Feature" Idea, and it spawns further thought and people comment.
If a few people have commented, it would be nice to add your comment AND flag a comment(s) you agree with.
Without the ability to do so, the process becomes very flat, and every idea needs its own idea, and it is harder to find common threads between ideas.
Many blogs do this. You could almost treat an aHa Idea more like a story or headline, and the comments themselves become votable ideas. Recursive.
