Add default granularity to external release dates Merged

Right now it is possible to set an external release date for a release, which is great! The unfortunate part, is that if I want to use this feature I have to update every release manually. If I want a release date to be external available per quarter instead of day granularity, wouldn't I probably want all of my releases to do the same? The answer is yes, and the current process is tedious since it always defaults to day, which is too specific for an external release date. 

Please add an option to default new releases to a specific granularity according to each user's needs!

[NOTE] this is not urgent because I can just change it manually, but do you really want your users to feel like using your service is a chore instead of a blessing? This would be a fast change and would definitely increase your wow factor with at least one paying customer.
