With products that support cross-product functionality it is common for customers to file new Ideas under one product and then have another user submit the same idea under another product. In the exact opposite use case of APP-I-934, this is the use case where the idea should only be implemented under one product.
As a product manager, I want to be able to merge ideas across product definitions. I want this because only one product will implement the solution but users may submit them under multiple projects. Linking ideas requires additional customer work so they will continue to vote for the idea that appears under the wrong project rather than correctly be moved to the active request.
Our product lines (and resulting workspaces) share common functionality as part of a common technology surface area. Products are positioned and packaged for particular channels/markets/etc but an idea for one particular product is likely relevant for the same "experience" across similar products in different markets/channels.
We are not able to merge ideas across Product Categories. We temporarily move Ideas from one Product Category to another and then we are able to see ideas we want to merge to.
Then we move the idea back to the original Product Category.
I am wondering if you would be able to implement a change so that Ideas can be merged across Product Categories.
