Add better navigation visual cues to the Presentation Published View.

I shared my first presentation with the company today, and got some feedback that they could only see the first page, and no detail about the planned fix.

They were viewing the presentation on a high-dpi monitor. When visiting their desk and asking them to open the presentation, I found that the nav buttons were being obscured by various task bars and other items that were showing in the bottom left of the screen.

The Nav buttons were also way out of view when you are looking at a rather terse first page. Your eyes are drawn to the top of the screen, yet the nav buttons are down the bottom left.

Possible solutions

  • Add the nav controls to the top of the page.

  • Centre the Nav controls so they are more prominent to a new user.

  • Consider adding a Return to Home button that takes them back to the starting page.

  • Add a side nav showing all the pages in the presentation as a visual TOC (think PowerPoint or GSlides).

  • Put a Jazz Hands intro onto the presentation to help new users work out the controls.

  • Attach files
