Reviewers are currently unable to change an idea’s status, score ideas, or even post public comments without navigating over to the idea portal (which is not where they review ideas independently, or collaborate in person as a team of reviewers). After 3 months of trying, this is hindering adoptance of the tool and slowing down our team-wide scoring sessions.
It seems like there is a missing level here because a Reviewer really can’t review the ideas in a meaningful way, or even move them past the "Pending Review" state (so there is a nomenclature breakdown as well).
We have a number of people trying to adopt a process for reviewing ideas and they don't need access to Features, Releases, Initiatives, Goals, Strategy, Notebooks, etc. We would currently have to upgrade them to Premium level to make them Contributors with access to much more than they need, which means we can't justify the cost of those full-price user licenses. To gain a basic level of review capability for these users, we'd have to up our annual budget by $7,080 : (.. (that's a sad, drooling, face, which is extra sad because we love the tool and really want to embrace it).
It's critical that people who review ideas be able take them through a review process. They should be able to move an idea through states and exchange comments with the people submitting the ideas through the portal and be able to do this through the reviewer interface.

Please do not merge this into https://big.ideas.aha.io/ideas/APP-I-3078 - while that idea also addresses public commenting, we're looking for a fundamental commitment from Aha! to allow a proper review process to occur by a Reviewer (or some type of paid user that isn't the full-rate Premium price).
Thank you for the request. As you described, Contributors and Product owners have the ability to make changes on Ideas, while other users do not.
Based on historical feedback in this area, we do not have plans to make changes to the permission structure at this time. Because of the importance of ideas, we can only allow Contributors and Product owners to make changes here -- as it can directly impact your product roadmap.
While we understand your use case is different, the large majority of our customers have Reviewers who they would not want to be able to access Ideas in this way.
At this time, we are unlikely to make updates in this area. We hope you can understand.
We have this same issue. I cannot justify$1800 for a license just for someone to change an Idea status and make public comments, and making them bounce between the portal and the app to do their job is unreasonable.
