Would it be possible to have the ability to archive products or product lines once we are complete with a project say after 6 months rather than delete it? Main reason is as we progress the number of products/product lines is getting to be excessive but we need to at times reference older projects. This also impacts the performance of Aha as when there are too many products/products lines/feature cards etc, the performance is slowed down when doing filters/reports etc
These options seem more like a workaround. We would like the ability to archive and/or make workspaces inactive as well for a few reasons:
We enable view perms at the top level of our hierarchy down, so removing access for one workspace would entail major policy changes and admin overhead if the workspace needs to be activated again
Moving the workspace out of the hierarchy is not desireable behavior for us because many of our reports are set up to pull all workspaces underneath a given product line. If we make a product inactive mid-year, but still need YTD reporting for the entire product line, we would have to touch every report to add that product back in since it is outside the hierarchy.
A product may only temporarily be inactive - sometimes we need to truly archive, not use again, but keep the data. But sometimes we may want to mark a workspace inactive for a set period of time to be activated later. It makes more sense to stay in the current hierarchy and just be removed from the UI for this period, without having to touch every user's perms.
I would also like to be able to archive products. Removing access really does not meet our needs. An inactive or closed status would be preferred. Currently I download all the data and then delete the product, I don't want to do this.
Actually you can archive products now so that they don't appear in the UI. The key is to change the product so that no users have permissions for it. This may require moving the product out of your existing hierarchy (so no permissions are inherited from the product line). Some customers create an "Archived" product line especially for this.
If a user doesn't have permissions for a product then they won't be able to see it anywhere in the UI, except the Settings -> Accounts section.
Just following up on this. With 'Likely to Implement' when would this be as the number of products/product lines that we have is causing us admin dramas.
