Break the Product Family/Initiative Hierarchy Restriction

Currently you can only have as many levels of initiative hierarchy as there are Product Family/Products. But in tools like Version1 or Jira, the Epic structure is not similarly restricted – I can create as many levels of Epics as I want in V1 (I assume that is the same in Jira). I’d like to be able to create the same hierarchy structure in both tools so the integration is complete. We are trying to keep our product family hierarchy very tight, and I don’t want to have to create 4-5 levels of product hierarchy just because I want 4-5 levels of nested initiatives to map to their counterparts in the dev tool

Strategic initiatives are the high level efforts that help you achieve your goals for a specific product or product line.

As such, the current framework is set so that initiatives can be mapped to the specific product that they are aligned to - in order to allow you to see all strategic efforts across a product portfolio or company.

At this time, based on current priorities and community feedback, we are unlikely to make updates in this specific area. We hope you can understand.
