I frequently see where users attempt to game the system by voting multiple times, perhaps by voting from their work email account and then their personal account. I've also seen votes from users who are no longer employed by the company, and don't want their preferences to factor into the equation. Please let me delete any votes that I don't want to include in the total.
Hey Aha!
Any updates on this one?
We have CSMs voting on behalf of our clients, and they usually use Proxy Votes for this (which is great), but sometimes they mistakenly use their own votes, and I'd like to have an option to remove these.
I don't care about my CSMs votes – just the client ones :)
I would definitely love this. I have run into 4 different scenarios where this was required:
changed idea creator from internal user to customer, except the internal user gave me the wrong email address so now I have a vote under the user with the wrong email address and one with the correct email address.
our company has several different products - my particular product is getting votes from users who are not our customer
we have a customer who has changed email domains, so now they are duplicating their votes because they have a new email address.
Proxy votes/idea creator change as David mentioned. Although the extra vote allows that internal user to keep track of the idea, it is a misleading vote.
+1 on this. Whole we're at it can we prevent votes from being added when internal users create new ideas? Currently I need to remove my vote each time I create a new Idea on behalf of a client. We log client votes using proxy votes or ask them to vote by themselves after the idea is created - so these "implicit" votes are duplicate.
Clearing vote will be great!
I agree with both of the comments listed, we need to be able to remove internal votes and duplicate organization votes to have a cleaner view of the actual votes.
My main need for this is to avoid the situation where multiple users from the same company are knowingly or unknowingly voting for an Idea. Making you think an Idea has wider interest than it really has.
If not easy to support vote deletion then how about a way to mark a vote as a duplicate vote so not counted in the total votes. Or a field which has the count of unique votes - e.g. count of organisations voting.
I've seen where members of our Sales team have conspired to vote up a customer idea. There votes simply skew the voting record, and ideally I would delete their votes.
