Support for multi-select in custom fields on bulk update

I have a predefined tags custom field called "customer type" - if i want to bulk update values in that field there is no option to set more than one customer type on the bulk update screen.

Doing multiple bulk updates is a productivity killer for more than just running it twice because:

• Assumption: I have a filtered list that includes items where the "customer type" field is blank.
• Step 1: bulk update 20 items to have the first value of "Insurance"
• Step 2: when the filtered report refreshes after the bulk update completes, those 20 items no longer appear on the filtered list.
• Step 3: clear the "blank" filter, these 20 items are now commingled with the other records that already had a value of "insurance"! 
• Step 4: Add the "xxx Last Active" column to my list report, sort the lost so that the 20 items i updated appear at the top of the list
• Repeat Step 1 for as many multi-select values i need

I see this is already possible for native multi-select fields like Goals so hopefully this is an easy fix.
