Who would benefit? |
Helps end users find and use standardized templates more easily |
What impact would it make? |
Increases standardization of custom templates across teams |
How should it work? |
Ability to add a button/link that creates a new document and automatically adds a specified note or whiteboard template |
You can now add a link that will create a new document with a specified template. To create this link, go to the Notebooks tab in your workspace and open the template gallery. Then, right-click on the Use template button and select Copy Link Address.
When users follow that link in the future, they will be prompted to create a new document in that workspace with your desired template.
Here are the steps to try this out:
Navigate to the Knowledge tab
Click the blue Add button > Select Use a template
Find your desired template and right-click on the Use template button, then select Copy link
Finally, paste that link in another document or record. When users click that link, they will be prompted to create a new document using your selected template!
Let us know how it goes, and feel free to submit a new idea if there are enhancements to this process that you would like to see in the future!
I'm not clear on how this works...are there further instructions?
