Archiving Initiatives (not by Timeframe)

The ability to archive Initiatives shouldn't be based on the timeframe value but status.

Timeframe can be leveraged by multiple resources, long in range, or not accurately updated.

The status reflects a "done" state and is a better indicator if something should be archived.

Thank you for your idea. Archiving is handled outside of status since it removes the records from all reporting. It is quite common that completed initiatives should still be shown in progress reports. If you have need to archive initiatives individually at certain times, one work around would be to add them to a timeframe that has already been archived.

Given this background and the option above, we are unlikely to implement this idea at this time. We hope you can understand.

This is a very useful feature to have to avoid overcrowding the Startegic initiatives section and keep it clean for product managers to track new ones. Historic recrord of the timeframe shoud also be preserved

The ability to archive individual initiatives based on Status would be helpful. Timeframes can be large. If the only option is to archive the Timeframe, that means Strategic Initiatives that are Achieved show up in the dropdown list and can still be tied to Epics, until the entire Timeframe is complete. We shouldn't have to create what are essentially duplicate Timeframes to be able to Archive an item.

Thank you however it is not just for progress reports, it is a look back at what has been achieved for the year for example. And we archive time frames so the initiatives view is not crowded with completed ones.
