We're managing multiple product in a product line and want to visualize dependencies between different releases of different products. This should be by automated roll-up of the feature dependencies. Currently the Portfolio report doesn't allow to visualize dependencies, whereas the Releases report only visualizes feature dependencies, which is too granular for a portfolio overview. It would be extremely useful for us to be able to link dependent features in different releases of different products, and have this (inherent) dependency be visualized in the Portfolio roadmap so it's immediately apparent what the effect of delaying one release of one product has on the releases of other products.
Thank you for the idea. Given the low volume of support for this idea, we do not have plans to make updates in this area at this time.
The reason why it doesn't really work in a Releases report is because the different versions of a same product are listed on separate lines so one loses the overview, and you have to expand all the full release detail to see the linked features which again doesn't allow to keep the overview. So ideally the Portfolio report would automatically draw dependency arrows between releases when features in those releases are linked.
Hi Austin, apologies, I meant 'Portfolio report' where I originally wrote 'Strategy report'. I corrected the idea description above.
Hi Thierry, just to clarify this request. Are you requesting the ability to show dependencies on the Portfolio roadmap? It is currently possible to show dependencies on the Strategy roadmap, but this is specific to initiatives not releases. Thank you!
