Thank you for your idea. Mockups are currently allowed for any notes field as a way to provide a visual aid when needed. If there are certain fields which you would never want a mockup attached, we would recommend communicating this internally using the custom field description. This will show up as a tooltip by the field label.
At this time we do not have plans to update custom fields to allow making mockups optional. We hope you can understand.
It would be good to either make the mockups and attachments optional or have a field without these options. I have to actively tell my folks to ignore these buttons, specially since we create our 'mockups' elsewhere. Seems overkill to have this over field in an initiative.
We are wanting to multiple customer tables for user reference that contain links for many records. Having the mock-up and attach files in every record makes the row much taller than thy have to be and thus less can be displayed on a single view. It would also be nice to have row spacing and number of row per page control. Slight adjustments like the optional mock-ups, file attachment and rows per page to improve the user experience to scrolling versus having to thumb through multiple pages of the same table.
I completely agree with this idea. There should be the ability to have something like a plain-text Note field and a rich-text Note field.
I really wish you wouldn’t automatically enable mockups and attachments for every Note field. There are many places where it’s nonsensical to do so, such as a custom field for User Story.
Alternatively, I'd be happy with a multi-line text field ;p
