Workflow issue: When adding features from the + drop down menu allow assignment or further editing

When adding a feature from the drop down menu on the top right I am unable to set assignment or status. This can make it difficult to use when my view of features is already filtered. I am forced to remove my filters, find the feature, edit it, and then reapply my filters. It would be nice to have more edit capabilities when adding via the + menu or the ability to open the added feature immediately for further editing.
