Limit number of Ideas a user can create
Create a setting to limit the number of ideas a user can add. Would be nice if this could be specified to a time frame. Such as user can create 20 ideas a year. Right now user's can submit endless ideas, and it would be nice to force them to think carefully about recommendations they are submitting.

Hi,
We like feedback from our customers on a small set of ideas. Using ideas for this sound like a good idea ;-) But in our experience when opening up a "new" idea to some of the customers we will be swamped by ideas. Which is not a bad thing, but...

BIG +1 for this Idea!! Our Product Team is struggling with the volume of Ideas being submitted by our customers, so we would like to have the ability to limit the number of Ideas submitted by either the User level or limit at the Institution/Org level. Some customization around how many Ideas per month, quarter, or year would be helpful to adjust as well.

We would also like to have the ability to limit the number of submissions by a person but would like that limit to be enforced for a specific time period. E.g. users can submit 3 votes per calendar year or fiscal year.
After running our idea portal for a few years, we've now basically been inundated with around 1000 ideas. It's far too many for us to implement, and even reviewing them is a lot of work, and users sometimes get upset if their ideas aren't commented on. The vote limit does not help, as they just keep submitting new ideas with 0 votes. Limiting the number of ideas a user can submit could help avoid us ending up in this situation.
Is there an ETA on this functionality?

I did see the blog post, which led me to create this idea. I think the problem for me is that with the new feature, users will still be able to submit ideas that we need to review, only now these ideas will have 0 votes. Also, the current feature is not time limited. I think the new voting limits will help, but still could use some updates. Thanks!
Hi - not sure if you saw the good news, but we actually just shipped a feature this morning which allows you to allocate the number of ideas each user can vote on. You can read more about it here: http://blog.aha.io/allocate-customer-votes-ideas-portals
When a user submits an idea, typically a vote is automatically assigned to it. However, if they are over their vote allocation, the submitted idea will be given 0 votes.
We hope this new capability will help with what you are trying to achieve.
