I have numerous releases where the timeline of release is shorter than the text length of the title resulting in the title being cut off in the roadmap visual. Please allow the title of roadmap element to extend wider than the element itself. See attached example of a cut-off title.
This is pretty essential for me because without my stakeholders can't really read my roadmap.
Not sure whether this is a separate idea or related to this but we have created a Custom portfolio view report which looks similar to the Home Portfolio view just minus the shipped releases. The title for each release is shown using the option thin bar with text above on portfolio custom views - it defaults to the left rather than the right which means text is missed on the report view if the release is particularly lengthy. So if you are doing changes around the above idea - can there be an option to right align the titles?
@Ron - I'd like to see it like this. Box width is fixed by text can extend beyond it. In order to avoid overlapping boxes, push following boxes to the next lower row as shown in rows 2 and 3 here.
Aha already uses "tooltips"on hover to handle long titles. Look at the Starter Roadmap Report as an example. The same functionality should exist in notebooks.
The alternative is putting ... where it doesn't fit. Then using a tooltip. One other suggestion would be to allow the user to over-ride the title within the road map visual so they can make it fix the space they are working with.
Maybe the box could become thicker in height. I'll give it some thought and get back to you.
Thank you for the request. I'm curious to hear how you would expect/want the text of the roadmap element to appear? As the bar is related to the timeline (and is fixed to some degree), how would you expect the full text to visually appear?
