Features Board: Display External Release date

Sometimes I use Features Board to discuss with internal stakeholders, and I don't feel comfortable showing internal release date there. External normally has some buffer and more generic (like a quarter of the year, when I am planning to release). Ideally I should have an option to choose displaying internal or external on that view. (or it could be associated with the view: normal cards or small cards - small by default using external)

Thank you for the request. One workaround would be to leverage the vast reporting engine. From there, you can show the specific details for your features and releases which you plan to share with your stakeholders. This would allow for a more focused view into the information you are presenting, while also allowing you to have more control over the information (and layout).

At this time, because of the existing functionality and current priorities, we do not have plans for updates in this area. We hope you can understand.

We use the internal date as the feature freeze date for burndown chart purposes, however the external date is always used for the actual release date (ie. Go Live). Due to a number of factors we have a 4-5 week period between feature freeze and Go Live, so the internal date doesn't even align with the same month as the actual release date. The internal date showing on the board continues to confuse everyone, including the product owners and often the internal date gets changed back to the Go Live date, and needs to be changed again when the burndown chart is shared. Wouldn't most people prefer the Go Live date over the code freeze date to appear as the release date on the board view? It would be great to at least add an option on which date displays.

It would be a lot easier for our PMs to keep the external release date in view as that's what they mostly need to communicate about. Toggling between internal and external release dates in the Feature Board would be ideal.

We use the Feature board view as our main view to plan and communicate releases to internal audiences, and the ability to show the external date would be very useful.
Since in internal roadmap sessions we want to often dive into details as well as make ad hoc changes in scope, wording etc., the release and reporting views are not a good fit for driving these activities.

This would be really useful. A lot of our users use the Features Board and therefore get confused by the date.

Just throwing my vote into the hat on this one.  In as much as there is a work-around with reports, we find it easiest to work on the board.  I have been keeping WIP in Parking Lots until we have an exact release date because of the miscommunication caused by showing an arbitrarily specific date.  I'd rather show the external date and use reports for detailed dates.  I hope you'll reconsider.

Agree with previous comment that this would be very useful; my case is different in that I wish to share this with the customer, where the external date is a must!
