Add the ability for Portal Users to export the list of ideas they currently have displayed on the screen. This would allow ideas to be shared within an organization / client for users who do not have access to the Idea Portal or choose not to use it directly.
Thank you for the note. We do have exporting capabilities inside of the application through the Ideas list page, which could be shared with others.
A better workaround, however, might be to leverage Notebooks. From the Ideas list page, you could create a view with the filters of interest and export the view into a Notebook. Notebooks can be shared as web pages, giving your users the ability to see live views of the data.
At this time, we do not have plans for updates specifically for portal users but hope that you can leverage the existing features inside of the application.
Thanks for the suggestion, but after trying it, it was pretty obvious that manually exporting daily or upon customer request and placing a recent (but always out of date as soon as you export it) version on a page accessible in the portal is a clunky and time consuming workaround at best. Since export to Excel is such a generally ubiquitous feature of most other web applications, as a brand new user of Ideas, I am disappointed this feature is being considered more seriously.
This needs to be standard functionality. All our beta customer users are asking for it.
Thanks for the suggestions. We are using Notebooks for some client users on an ad hoc basis.
We have over 2,000 portal users (who are our clients) so it would be much better for the individual portal user to export the ideas they wish that than add an admin task to the Product managers.
