We have an extremely active ideas portal but our users find that they struggle to navigate through the 100's of ideas raised. One of our customers has requested a weekly or fortnightly notification email of new ideas raised to our ideas portal.
The user would want to opt out of the email if requested.
They would also like to have a highlight in the email (or an option to separately email) for ideas raised by employees at their company. I.e. all ideas raised by users with the same email domain as them so they can review and vote.
Drive more engagement in your ideas portal
You can now send customers a weekly summary of activity in your ideas portal and encourage them to share more feedback. Enable this new email in your portal's email settings. Read more.
If you haven't turned this feature on, you need to! Just here to comment, this is a great tool to increase your idea portal engagement. Just turned it on last week after hearing from our customers they really needed more to draw them to the idea portal and this was our first Monday that the summary email went out and engagement has already increased today.
For our product managers who are receiving ideas from stakeholders, we would like the ability to send email notifications or a weekly digest of new ideas hitting a particular product area in the portal, so that ideas aren't missed, as measured by reduction in response time back to the idea submitter after an idea is submitted.
We just moved from Idea Scale to Aha!. Ideas Scale produced a weekly digest email of the top 10 ideas, including details and comments. This is the biggest request from our users after transitioning to Aha!, stating that it serves as a reminder to visit and participate. Without the friendly reminder, frustration and anger is what propels them to the portal, which reduces substance and creates a miserable experience for both sides to work through. Please note that I vote on behalf of a 2,000 person community with a targeted population of 12,000 to match the old community population.
Our users are also requesting something similar, although I would prefer it to be an opt-in function that would be available from the portal itself. It would drive interaction, votes and collaboration.
We have the same requirement for our portal only users, they say that having a summary (digest) email containing new and trending ideas on a regular basis (weekly / monthly) would actually drive their usage of the ideas portal.
As unless they have a specific idea, they do not tend to access the portal due to the demands of their roles.
