Status Unlikely to implement

Workflow Actions

We would like to tie certain workflow status's to an action.  Example, I created a feature status that says "Descoped from Release".  If a user chooses this status, I would like to require that they add a comment to this change so that I know why they descoped it.

Thank you for the request. At this time, we would suggest making this an aspect of your process so that the team always knows that they need to add a comment when changing to specific statuses.

At this time, we do not have plans for updates in this area. We hope you can understand.

I understand the response. But, when a feature changes status, there is normally a reason.  General comments pertain to the EPIC. So, being able to add a comment at feature status change helps audit, history and can be explained in the presentations when explaining (or when providing transparency to the customers) as to the reasons behind why things happened like they did - not all impacted stakeholders are at the table when these decisions are made.

A better capability to have would be different comment types that can then be filtered / sorted for us in communications / review / etc.

I know this is "unlikely" but giving it another shot... this specific requirement is a potential deal breaker for my team.  Yes, we can define a written or verbal process to require comments however that will never be as effect as the tool enforcing it.  This is not about people actively trying to break a rule but the fact there's a lot of things asked of them and remembering to fill out everything perfectly each time isn't realistic.  The tool should help by making things required when we want them required.  Absent of that, we need workarounds like creating extra process to review items looking for these simple gaps.  If it remains that Aha won't include this we'll likely move to something else.
