Our end users have asked for the ability to subscribe to or watch entire categories of ideas at a time.
Drive more engagement in your ideas portal
You can now send customers a weekly summary of activity in your ideas portal and encourage them to share more feedback. Portal users can go to their profile to customize which idea categories are highlighted in the email. Enable this new email in your portal's email settings. Read more.
This does seem a significant gap in functionality that would allow for better collaboration and feedback. As noted in the other comments, without this, we are not seeing the broader engagement across ideas that we might expect since many customers/users are simply not checking the Ideas portal on their own time unless they have something very specific to request.
This is a crucial feature to enable sustainable usage of the portal. The current use case requires users to go to the portal and browse around. People just don't have the time to do this.
Enabling users to be notified of new ideas that match their interests would make Aha and the ideas process far more proactive and meaningful.

This is MUCH needed.
Would love to be able to do this.
Agree. Much needed for SME/community engagement and less reliance on Admin responses.
Hi there, this is not currently planned but we will continue to monitor customer feedback here. I have updated the status to be more accurate. In the meantime, one way to work around this is by watching the ideas overview page. This will provide a notification for any idea that is created for a product.
What is the status of this idea - it is over 2 years old and is table stakes for any customer idea community I have seen. If "Likely to implement" on 3/24/16, what is current status?
Our user groups ask for this constantly, so they can help drive engagement and monitor for ideas for their specific products.
Yes!! would love to see this.
Very much needed to drive community engagement on idea curation and refinement.
