Allow users to subscribe to notifications for new ideas that are trending, recent, or popular if they want to stay on top of ideas.
We would also like to allow users to subscribe to notifications by category. Ideally, they'd be able to choose if they want to receive notifications for just new ideas within a category or comments as well.
You can now enable a weekly summary email in your ideas portal. Customers will receive an email each week highlighting the new ideas and comments in the portal, and they can also subscribe to the categories that interest them most. Learn more.

Perhaps I should open a new idea?
What we would like to do is get a notification when a new idea is submitted in order to respond to each idea as soon as possible. We have a performance metric based on our response time.
As previously mentioned (and as you pointed out), we can get notifications for ALL activities related to ideas by watching the overview page. This produces many extraneous notifications, so instead we have chosen to periodically check a report that only shows ideas in the "Needs Review" status. This saves us time combing through our inbox/notifications.
By building out a way to "watch" a report, we would be able to be notified whenever data was added/changed within a given report. This would satisfy the enhancement request along with providing a way to watch any other status changes, etc.

Hi there, one way to get the notifications you mentioned is to watch the Ideas overview page. This will send notifications for any new ideas or updates to existing ideas. It will filter out any non-ideas related updates that you would get by watching the product overview page. You can also set your notification preferences to hourly or daily digest to consolidate them all into a single email. I hope this helps!
Many of our Aha users would like to get notified *only* when a new idea comes in from the portal. This would allow us to respond ASAP to the idea submitter (a KPI we are being measured against).
Current functionality allows users to "watch" all interactions from a product. This provides an absurd amount of notifications for activities that we would not like to be notified about.
Alternatively, we have created a report that populates ideas with our first status "Needs Review". Our team manually checks this once every 24 hours.
Building a way to "watch" based on a new data value in a report, or by specific activities on the overview page would have many other helpful use cases as well.
