Salesforce Integration - allow for the inclusion of SFDC Custom Fields to Map to Aha! Ideas

Inclusion of additional fields from SFDC such as Risk and/or Account status would be helpful for the PM's when assessing and prioritizing ideas for based on the opportunities for that idea. However, these fields typically won't exist in Salesforce. The request is that the additional fields would be added at the point of data entry through the Salesforce plugin and then passed along to Aha! and associated with each individual opportunity.

Perhaps more useful than inclusion of fields would be to allow custom fields in Aha! that can be selected when submitting the idea via Aha! This way you could select between "nice to have" or "deal killer" or perhaps have a risk slider to select the scale of the impact risk the feature has on the account. This is not something we track in Salesforce.

Bryan - you can already add custom fields in Aha! for ideas that can be included as part of the Idea submittal form for ideas that are added through an Idea Portal. But, this approach would only work if your users are submitting their ideas through the Idea Portal and not through the Salesforce integration.

This would also be valuable for cases

Another use case for this; we do not use the "Orders" object in SF so we are not passing through the value associated to an account into Aha! It would be great if we could define a custom field to be used as Value and pass that through.

Our team has custom fields associated to the Opportunity records which indicate

    • Timing Confidence for closure
    • Probability of Award

bringing these values into the idea scorecard automatically or at least presenting the details for a scoring session would be fantastic.

I think this is a critical feature. We need visibility into deal criticality for this Idea per Salesforce opportunity. Right now the only place to put criticality is on the Idea itself, which goes across multiple opportunities.

Would really like to see this feature. Would also be beneficial to be able to link salesforce fields to Aha! custom fields so that in turn JIRA custom fields mapped to Aha! fields can be automatically updated with changes committed by support and sales teams in Salesforce.

What we would like to do is to allow Salesforce users to edit the value of a custom field, such that this value would be updated back in Aha!

The workflow we are aiming for is this:
    1. Sales rep creates an idea in Salesforce.
    2. Product Manager reviews idea and promotes it to a feature.
    3. Sales rep is notified that his/her idea is now a planned feature.
    4. Sales rep shares this information with a potential customer, who promises to buy based on the deliverable feature.
    5. Sales rep updates a custom field in original Idea to indicate it has been promised to customer.
    6. Product Manager runs report to identify which features have been promised for upcoming releases (conditional sales).
In this workflow, the tricky part now is #5, which would be a breeze if we had this feature.
