Currently when adding an attachment you only see thumbnails with below the thumbnail the first part of a filename. This makes navigating to the correct file difficult when using longer or similar filenames. It would be great to be able to switch view to a filelist equal to what you would see in explorer or finder. this makes navigating and adding files a lot easier and faster.
As we also use the product/files tab for sharing and communicating the latest product documentation a filelist view there would also help our users/customers to navigate more easy to the appropriate files
This idea status was out of date. Since this idea was submitted we have introduced the ability to view attachments in a thumbnail view or list view. This toggle is available on each record as well as the Product > Files page.
As commented on the similar request... It would be great to have additional metadata associated with a file, and then combine this with the proposed list view so that a meaningful grid of information is displayed for available files. It would be very helpful to be able to make these metadata fields user-definable. As the product manager I can then offer a flexible document repository with great filter capabilities.
Additionally, please make it possible to reorder based on date, filename, extension, ...
