Make Initiative views in Notebook more useful by adding descriptions and comments

Right now, neither the initiative list, nor including initiative detail is very useful in a notebook.

The list of initiatives doesn't have enough information to be useful -- it would need the description, at minimum to be useful to me, and it takes up a lot of room on the page for really no purpose. The initiative status is visually overweighted compared to the initiative title.

The initiative detail doesn't include important information (like comments) and includes stuff that should not be shown, like "roll up to the product line initiative" when there is no rollup. It also very oddly doesn't show the features.

Please fix these views to be more useful, or better yet, provide a few formatting options.

I really, really wanted to use notebooks for my reporting, but have to revert to PPT instead.

Ron, what is a possible use case for the initiative view? Who would be glancing at it, and what would they get out of doing so? My point is that there is not enough information to be informative, and it takes up too much vertical space to get statuses "at a glance". I mean, really look at it -- it has about double the vertical space needed to show the title and status, just causing me to have to scroll up and down the page. At least provide something consistent with the goals page.

Cameron, thanks for the suggestion. As you mentioned, this is currently possible through the Report view. The initiative list view is meant to be more of an "at a glance" view so at this time, we do not plan on making changes in this area.

I should mention that this is for the standard initiative list view, and the initiative detail view. I found that you can, of course, make a report that includes anything you want -- and this is the way I went for now. It would be great to be able to further customize the standard views and show a master/detail view of an initiative on a single page.

Hi Cameron -- Initiatives do show features that are linked to it. The reason for the rollup menu option is so you can select a product-line roll up. It's such a valuable feature that we would be unlikely to hide it as at a minimum, it allows folks to read about the availability even if they didn't yet create initiatives at the product line level. Thanks for the feedback regarding other improvements. I updated the title to ensure our other users would better understand what you mean by "useful".
