Ability to reflect more levels of rollup in pivot reports and custom roadmaps

Currently you can visualize a feature, it's initiative, and the rollup initiative in a pivot or custom roadmap.

For companies with more levels of hierarchy this limits what they are able to reflect in reporting. While the hierarchy report allows them to visualize the different levels, it does not have the functionality available in a pivot report to do counts, sums, etc. Nor does it allow the user to visualize timelines in a gantt in the same view as the full rollup relationship.

You can now add additional levels of roll-up goals and initiatives in list reports, pivot reports and custom roadmaps. Try it out by creating a report and adding Initiative then Roll-up initiative 1 as a related record. You can do this for goals as well.

AWESOME! This could not have come at a more perfect time. I was just talking to our team about eliminating a level to make reporting better. This solves that problem!

This is very painful for any company that has more than 2 layers of strategy. And even then, it's very hard to get a full picture of what's needed when viewing a goal with its roll-up. Often there is a need to see the data associated with both the goal and its roll-up. The need is for Aha! reporting to be able to recognise goals and/or initiatives as being different record types from their roll-up. The inability to do this easily pushes large organisations towards products like Jira Align.

Take something simple like an OKR.

Objective = goal at the line level
Key Result = goal at the workspace

How should a team create a report with these basic headers?

    Objective

    Objective Status

    Key result

    KR Metric

    KR Baseline

    KR Target

    KR Current

    Lovability of reporting

    Some progress

    Love for strategic rollup reporting

    Lovability score

    20%

    80%

    To low to track*

The hierarchy report doesn't handle a simple report like this well at all. The layout of all the cell data thrown into a single column makes consuming it too hard. Further, it's common to want to throw in a calculated column to show the current's relationship to target. This is not possible in the hierarchy report.

The example above is just about the most simple requirement we have and can't be done.

(*of course this is tongue in cheek!)

Plus one on this idea. This would be a game changer for us because at the moment is not possible to visualize the whole connection from team goal to company goal (or for any other record) in one report unless in the hierarchy report which has some limitations as you cannot add all the custom fields we have. It would be great if you could pickup this idea as soon as possible. Thanks!

We have a 3 level hierarchy in our org. Currently "Roll up to Initiative" or "Roll up to goal" only goes up to the parent. Means I cant find a way visualise a roadmap of multiple workspace initiatives against a Company level goal. (unless we link the workspace initiative to the workspace goal and company level goal which causes a bunch of other issues around consistency and also duplicates rows..). It would be so great to be able to roll up to the top level. ie being able to select "Roll up to goal (parent)" or "Roll up to goal (top)" being able to select either or both would be amazing.

I too would like the ability to visualize roadmaps that show rollup initiatives from a workspace line as the primary bars, and then be able to expand a bar and see the child initiatives from the child workspace(s) that contribute to that rollup initiative. Our rollup initiatives are set to start end end based on the child initiatives, so presumably all of the child workspace initiatives could be "contained" within the workspace line rollup initiative.

The expand/collapse view I'm envisioning could look like the container bar look that shows in the strategy roadmap (if you have epics within an initiative) or like the features within an initiative on the features roadmap.

    Thanks!

Our org needs the ability to single out the most important of the line-level initiatives across our entire portfolio and reflect them as org-level roll up initiatives. Otherwise, the ability to create an initiative at org-level doesn't help us because it can't connect to the rest of our work in a meaningful way.
