When there are different categories of schedules -- product launches, trade shows, etc -- it would be useful to apply a custom color to the schedule so when viewing on the gantt it is easy to quickly tell what schedules are related.
It would also be helpful to be able to group the schedules by category.
This would be a great feature to have allowing more control when selecting color by type and letting the user select which color is applied.
Plus one on color coding. Best scenario is flexible color coding, leave the choice to the user. Let the user choose any color they want for any of the bars....
I would love this feature so that we can group various activities (features) by the phase, reflected by color.
It would be nice to color code the feature type field similar to status so when I'm looking at a roadmap I can see the different bars colored based on feature type.
I asked AHA expert: Does the color bars by “type” change the color when you set the type to a unique value on a feature? I see this Type field for Features I created a unique value, but the color did not change in the Master Feature Gantt Chart. I guess I’m questing what that the Type field does here in the Gantt Chart now? Because changing the “Type” field at the feature level doesn’t do anything.
ANSWER: The 'type' referred to there is actually the record type: master feature vs. feature. All features, as you have noted, remain the same color under that selection.
My Response: That’s too bad. It would be nice to be able to color code by the “Feature type” field --- similar to how you can define colors at the status level.
