Multiple user types (support, sales, presales, acct managers, etc) have ability to vote on behalf of a customer however today the proxy vote information is retained only under the user that made the request which means no other support users , etc can see that the request has already been made unless they have access to the backend. This is causing too many duplicates.
Good news! Today we added a new portal setting that allows portal users view all proxy votes. To find this setting, open your ideas portal and go to Settings > Overview > Voting > Proxy votes. Set Portal users can view and edit to All proxy votes. This will allow all portal users to view all proxy votes captured by anyone on behalf of any organization. On the Proxy votes page users can easily filter by organization for a complete view of what has been requested for the customer. Learn more.
we need this too though: https://big.ideas.aha.io/ideas/A-I-13864 showing all proxy votes to all users is a good first step, but ideally we can be more specific about the permissions.

This is huge for us as well. The ideas portals are being used more and more by internal teams so there needs to be a focus on being more internal friendly. Not having the ability for our internal users to see which customers have been added via proxy vote is a big issue and will result in so many duplications. Please Aha! can we have a view on how this can be resolved.
Has anyone found a workaround for this? It's been difficult to coach teams to use the idea portal instead of the actual product if they cannot track requests for their team/group without it.
Whenever you can cast them, customer and comment need to be visible for existing proxy votes in the portal. It is of no use to only find the proxy user listed under the votes without any additional details.
This is really important functionality for us. We will receive many duplicates which can be very frustrating.
Without this functionality, we are receiving duplicate votes and our product team is having to manually clean them up to get an accurate voting picture. Aha needs to take this up as a priority if crowd sourced feedback is to be meaningful through proxy voting.
This is a huge need for us as well. Even when users have access to the back end, it adds a lot of time for them to check and see if an idea already has a vote from the same customer, and to review existing asks. This should ideally be possible for internal portals at least!
