Sharing one common layout across Idea Form and Idea Portal

Idea Form is the layout used for entering ideas and Idea Portal is the layout used for viewing ideas. Once a portal user enters an idea, it is natural that they would like to view the same idea at a later point in time. Also, other users would like to see all the information that the requestor of the idea entered for the idea. Wouldn't it be logical to have an option of enabling one layout that is common for both Idea Form and Idea Portal? This will eliminate duplication of setup and unnecessary effort. I understand there is flexibility by having two separate configurations but it can be handled by providing a single entry point or a common template and then indicating what is available under Idea Form layout and what is available under Idea Portal layout. Alternatively, there should be a copy function to copy over a layout between "Ideas", "Idea Forms" and "Idea Layouts" and then indicate any overrides/exceptions.
