Once an Initiative is achieved it is still selectable from within a feature or a release.
The option should be removed from being selected, or how the option in the initiative to not show in feature or release details as a selectable option.

Initiatives do not live forever and they really accumulate quickly in the selection box within the features. It would be an excellent idea to allow initiatives to disappear from the selection box after they are complete.

You can also archive initiatives once they are complete. Archived initiatives do not appear in the list when mapping initiatives. Hope this helps!
