Allow Ideas to convert to To-Do's

Ideas are one of the most useful features of Aha.  You guys have the ability to both promote ideas, and then keep the idea linked to the resulting entity in Aha, so you can still view ideas separately from the promoted entities, and track if they are actually completed, and not just moved to "active initiative" state.

 

I am in a trial of Aha right now, and I have not been able to move my team over fully because the focus of Aha is still overly on Product Management and Features, and I am missing some flexibility - granted these are things I think would "complete" Aha as you already have a ton of flexibility!  So what I'd like to see in particular around ideas is the ability to convert to simple work items, and this would me into "to-dos".  Some ideas in my team are around Ops-type stuff, like "update PHP to v. 5.2" ( I run websites).  I'd like to keep this type of item as an idea in Aha, and not, for example, a todo.  The reason is my team will "dump" this type of idea/work item into our system, which is currently Wrike, to make sure we don't lose track of it, but we may not do even simple stuff like this for weeks.  I'd rather not have a todo sitting in Aha that is not actively going to be worked on, and using an idea for this type of item is better for my workflow.

On a related note, I see a ton of potential in todos, which are another, very useful type of work item for my Product Team and related managers,  who are prepping the work for my dev team, as opposed to Features/Requirements, and the "meat" of Aha.  I posted about some potential evolution of Todos having workflow status here:

    Thank you for your idea. There are a couple options here. First, you could create a to-do on the idea. An additional option which may be better for your workflow is to create a custom feature type for work items you are considering using to-dos to track. You could then promote ideas to features and use the feature type to filter those out of views where they are not needed.

    Given the options above and other priorities, we are unlikely to implement this idea at this time. We hope you can understand.
