Duration & Milestones visibility on same roadmap view

Need to be able to show a continuous timeline (3-year broken into quarters) with both the initiative duration and specific milestones along the way. This is the issue we’ve encountered, our leadership wants to be able to see the iniative timeline, but then we have key milestones along the way that need to be represented in the same view (e.g. Goal target date, product ready date, etc…)

I need a Roadmap view for release phase where in under each phase I can track features and its progress. Currently Pivot report is configured to suffice my need but a roadmap view for release phases would give a better sight.
We use initiatives as well, especially for external stakeholders and having more flexibility around how to present them would be useful.
