Give the ability to show more status' to the customers Merged

We have status' in the idea, for example "cancelled" that we want to map back to the customer. Right now we have multiple status' but only 1 mapping back to the customer and it's a bit misleading. is there a way we can have a 1:1 mapping for each status so the customer has the most accurate status
