All company employees are Aha! users and submit ideas logging in via the existing SSO. This means however that they are not treated as portal users which means that they do NOT receive portal notifications around when ideas change status, are promoted or have comments etc . Instead these are channeled via existing Aha! notifications which are extremely noisy (people ignore them or tune them out), the visual impact is limited and existing employees have already said that they dont see the relevant notifications related to ideas because they get drowned in other Aha! notifications
Employees who submit ideas do not see the progress of their idea and must manually check the progress which is inefficient. Reduces the buy-in and use of the Ideas portal. Employees miss information on how their idea is being handled which may be relevant to them.
Enable the already existing functionality around portal notifications which currently applies to portal users to be applied to Aha! users. This idea can also be seen as a logical extension of this already submitted idea (which is fundamentally a stopgap/workaround): https://big.ideas.aha.io/ideas/A-I-21803
See also this comment from 10 years ago which is fundamentally the same thing: Aha! users should be treated as portal users (but a portal user does not equal an Aha! user). The existing split between seeing the two as fundamentally different things is inefficient from an admin perspective.
