drill down when using a count in pivot table

What is the challenge?

• i want to use counts to have a clean view of records in a pivot table, but i want to be able to see what's behind the count. This works on a chart view in a fashion - its not the best UX there but its better than a static count.

What is the impact?

• I need to use two different reports, one with a count, one with a list of records. This is a maintenance overhead. In a dashboard - this would require two panels which is cumbersome to use.

Describe your idea.

• When a pivot table uses a count - enable a link to show the list of items behind the count. Adequate would be a popup or hover with the list of record names. Good would be the panel on the right with list of records with the fields from the list view representation of the data. This would allow drill down into the record details. Better would be the ability to specify the columns you can see. All of the above would also be needed in dashboard views.
