When an idea contains multiple distinct requests, promoting it a second time replaces the existing promoted record link rather than adding a new one. There's no way to link a single idea to two separately promoted records simultaneously.
Product teams can't fully represent the relationship between a multi-part idea and the individual records being built to address it. The automated status updates that notify idea subscribers only reflect one promoted record, so customers don't get an accurate picture of delivery progress when their request spans more than one piece of work.
Allow an idea to be promoted multiple times, with each promotion creating an additional linked record rather than replacing the previous one. Ideally, the idea's status would update automatically based on the aggregate progress of all linked promoted records (for example, moving to "Shipped" only when all promoted records are complete). This would give teams a more accurate way to track and communicate delivery on complex, multi-part customer requests.
