My organization has limited access to jira integrations for control purposes. This limits the ability of contributor users from accessing and/or seeing any integration errors that occur.
The errors occur silently and the users are unaware that the two tools are out of sync. It falls on a single person to receive the notifications and send out any errors. However to do this, there are multiple clicks to get to to the error and then take and send a screen shot of the error to (hopefully) the correct person. This has to be managed across nearly 100 products and nearly 175 integrations (to date).
Provide a way to give read-only access to selected users. Some suggestions are below:
For all Errors provide the message(s) next to the integration link.
Provide a role that allows for read-only access. For this to be useful, the link to to the integration page would need to be part of the email message and not just hidden behind the button, so that external automation can be used to redirect the email to the correct recipient. The link in the button can be hidden by mail security.
Allow access (external or internal) to generate a report that can included the aha workspace, integration details and error message.
Any of these methods should work, but the key is to have the details accessible to non-admins so that the errors do not remain silent.
we would like to see this same capability for Azure DevOps, too.
