The current access options for Knowledge Bases are limited to public, SSO, or password. We would like to use knowledge bases more broadly, but all of these options come with limitations. For example, for a customer-facing knowledge base, it's not always feasible for us to use SSO (or at the very least it is a hindrance in the process), but it's also not scalable to distribute a password to a large group of users in a reliable way.
It is difficult to widely grant access to a Knowledge Base without SSO.
Enable self-registration based on email domain as is supported for idea portals. I recognize that knowledge bases do not currently have "users" in the same way as an ideas portal; however, this would enable us to widely grant access to customers without navigating SSO limitations OR trying to widely disseminate a password, which is not secure or scalable.
After submitting, I found this duplicative idea: https://big.ideas.aha.io/ideas/A-I-20924. This could be merged into that one.
