Enable custom roadmap to support multiple record types as bars

What is the challenge?

• The goal is to create a roadmap view with multiple record types as bars, nested/collapsable, with custom fields and color coding baed on custom fields.

• The Custom roadmap provides for custom fields and color coding but not multiple record types nested as bars.

• The Strategy roadmap or Gantt provides the multiple record types as bars with nesting, though does not allow displaying a custom field and color coding by a custom field.

What is the impact?

• Unable to create a roadmap view that's aligned to what stakeholders are seeking the shows 3 nested record types as bars, custom fields, custom color coding.

  • There is value in creating a single roadmap that includes the information needed, rather than needing separate views to convey the needed information.

  • Not having a single view convey the necessary information results in additional work.

  • The view that could be accomplished with a custom roadmap supporting 3 or more record types as bars would allow for use for a range of audiences and simplify roadmap creation and sharing.

• Note: Separate ideas already exist to support custom fields on the Gantt views and custom colors on the Gantt views.
