Allow publication of linked documents

What is the challenge?
  • When creating a new document but as a link to an existing document (so that it is an exact carbon copy), Aha! does not allow linked documents to be published on the front-end of the KB. This causes challenges when you want or need to host the same document in different locations in the same KB. It does not seem practical to create a document that's purely snippets from start to end if that's the only way this can be done.

What is the impact?
  • You need to create copies of the same document and then they can be hosted in different parts of the same KB but this means that each copy will need to be manually updated as duplicates are not linked to the 'meta version'. This leads to unnecessary duplication of work downtime and resource. There is an option to create a new document by 'Link file' and then it creates a virtual copy of the document you want but Aha! do not allow document links to be published on the knowledge base (see attached photos)

Describe your idea.
  • Allow linked documents to be published/visible on the knowledge base to avoid having to create multiple copies of the same document and maintain each individually. This will future-proof documentation management when copies are needed but automatically link back to the original doc so that when it is updated, all instances of it are also automatically updated.
