Sort by custom field in Releases Gantt
What is the challenge? |
We would like to use the Releases > Gantt view as reporting dashboard, however, it should be sorted by a custom field we are using for prioritization, which is not possible. |
What is the impact? |
The epics and user stories in the Release are sorted in an unfamiliar way, so it's difficult to focus on the top priority epics first. The team does not like to use it in this way. |
Describe your idea |
Allowing to sort this view by the custom field we are using for prioritization would allow us to restore a familiar sequence of epics and go from important to less important issues. This idea leans on https://big.ideas.aha.io/ideas/APP-I-5158 where it was implemented for a different view. |

I think it would be very good in the Gantt chart view to be able to set a default sorting field for features in general.
We prefer to keep them sorted by start date; this is available, but as new features added to a release are by default at the bottom, we need to re-sort the features within the Gantt chart quite often. I would like this to be automatic
