What is the challenge? |
It's difficult for individuals on my team to know what to focus on among all the items assigned to them. |
What is the impact? |
Requirements and ideas are not attended to causing poor communication with stakeholders and lack of execution of "non-visible" priorities like requirements. |
Describe your idea |
There's 4 things I want them to look at: Features assigned to them, requirements/to-dos assigned to them on features that are not assigned to them, ideas assigned to them and features missing values or out of date values based on custom rules. I want them to view all the ideas and features in order of priority. I want this all to be on the same screen. |
Thank you Mike. Yes, I've already begun to work on that. So it's nice that Aha! has a robust reporting architecture built into the platform. I just figured there are many other managers who would benefit from their teams managing their day to day work using Aha!. The more people in Aha!, the more collaboration on Aha!, the less we need to hunt our e-mail and instant messages for requirements, collaboration and feature testing. Thank you for seeking to understand the business need.
Thanks for the feedback that is very helpful. I can't guarantee when the changes you are talking about might be implemented, but in the meantime all of the items you suggested could be built as a series of list and pivot reports and made into a custom dashboard. If you need help with that please contact our customer success team and they would be really happy to help you with it.
Yes, I actually use to have my team use "My Work", but it has several critical flaws to be usable:
1) No distinction of features from requirements. All features show up that have at least 1 requirement assigned to the person, but the way we'd look at prioritizing requirements looks different than prioritizing Features. So it becomes too messy and difficult to go through to understand what's a priority.
2) It cannot be sorted in terms of priority. I have my team use features prioritization daily. In fact, that's likely their default bookmark. It allows them to focus on what matters most, but only in terms of features. By contrast, there's no practical order to features on "My Work". The same thing is true with ideas. What if there are a lot of assigned ideas, but some of the "hopefully maybe one day" ideas are mixed in with the "Must do" ideas.
3) My last recommendation of being able to have some sort of audit report is essential to accurate reporting. I'd like each individual to manage their exceptions according to some defined rules (ie. if status = "Shipped" then "Due Date" <> blank)
Hi Charlton,
Have you tried using the my work section for this? If you click on records on the left hand side menu, you can see everything in one page.
If you have tried it, is there anything specifically that is not working for you?
Thanks
