More Seamless Navigation Within Aha! Whiteboards

What is the challenge?

The ability to zoom within an Aha! whiteboard requires too many clicks and steps, creating friction in how I use the tool.

What is the impact?

I waste time on zoom and navigating around on the screen when i could use those seconds/minutes doing actual work.

Describe your idea

  1. I want the scroll wheel on my mouse to control the zoom view on the whiteboard. Today, as a user, I must hold CTRL and use the mouse wheel to zoom in. This requires an additional hand on my keyboard, which otherwise shouldn't be required. Today, the scroll wheel alone allows the user to scroll the page up and down - but that's not really a necessary feature because I can move the screen around by "right-click" and grabbing the screen.

  2. Enhance zoom intervals. When I do zoom (while holding CTRL), it zooms in intervals that are too large. Given this, I often need to leverage the zoom panel at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, adding another step to this zoom process. For example, if I am viewing 84% zoom, hit CTRL and use my scroll wheel, it jumps to 164% (almost double). In contrast, another application I use zooms in with a range of 3-15% intervals depending on what range I'm in.

    You can now scroll with a mouse wheel to zoom into a whiteboard. Right click or hold Space and drag to move around the whiteboard.


    To learn more or to change your default navigation behavior, open the ... More options menu at the top right of your whiteboard and go to Mouse or trackpad.
