What is the challenge? |
There is no way to automatically push/copy the comments made on the idea records into the promoted features/epics. Comments just do not flow through from an idea to a feature/epic. Users have to manually incorporate the comments from ideas to features/epics. |
What is the impact? |
Users have to constantly look back and forth between records to review the comments which is time consuming and can be misleading. |
Describe your idea |
Implement some sort of automation that incorporates the comments from the ideas when generating the features and epics. Also, if possible, allow users to determine if they want the comments to sync between the records. |
Right now when an idea is promoted to a feature/epic and then sent to Jira, the original comments and discussion do not follow it. This creates a significant gap for our product managers and delivery teams:
We lose the full context and history behind why a feature exists and what customers actually said.
PMs have to manually navigate back from each Jira feature to the original Aha! idea to understand the context which is both time‑consuming and awkward
This has become a real pain point for us. It slows us down our workflows and makes collaboration between product and engineering harder.
Could you please share how this idea is currently being evaluated and whether there is any realistic timeline for it to move beyond “Future consideration”?
we use the comments very heavily so we have to come back to the idea every time to understand the full picture of the promoted feature. It is very awkward! Manually incorporating every information is not possible and so we miss the whole context.
This would be great for our organisation as we discuss with users their changes, and then promote and refine the issue types before pushing them to Aha Develop.
It would be great to have the comment history in the promoted issue type, so we have the history readily available.
