Sure - if I go and delete a Custom Field, I click the ... and select to Delete. I get a pop-up that asks me if I am sure but the original custom field is not highlighted and there is no indication that is what I am about to delete. It's just dicey if a person is rushing. I'd expect the pop-up to explicitly ask if you want to delete that
